Convenience Wizards for Functional Furniture
STABILUS will present its Powerise drives at the ZOW 2010 in Bad Salzuflen
Koblenz, December 2009. – As a highlight at the ZOW 2010, the Furniture Components Trade Fair in the German city of Bad Salzuflen, STABILUS will present its electromechanical Powerise adjustment drives, which have become more and more popular in comfortable furniture. These ready-to-install linear units can considerably increase the functionality and comfort level of contemporary beds and seating furniture. For example, these dual drives with their low-profile housings can be a very economical system solution for beds with movable head and foot sections. These self-supporting units are simply placed between the two rotating axes of the slatted bedframe fittings – and that’s it – no third axis or brace required!
These dual drives weigh barely 5 kg and work very quietly. They work with all common standard fittings, or they can – like the PR D20 model – be used in simple combinations with fittings for beds with varying width dimensions. At the ZOW (Feb. 8-11, 2010), visitors are invited to stop by the STABILUS booth in hall 19 (D5) and see for themselves how flexible and variable our Powerise drives are.
Safe, economic and promising
The dual drives are operated via a 6-setting ergonomic manual switch or by a remote control. They are equipped with a mechanical auxiliary lowering feature that can be activated by the user in no time during a power outage. An EU-compliant power disconnect will disconnect the power in stand-by-mode. Already, the Powerise drives meet the European ecodesign directives for 2014!
And the same convenience is provided for functional furniture and easychairs by our compact single drives. Depending on the model, these small, silent and easy-to-install power packs can be used as space-saving adjustment drives in TV lifts, underbed storage boxes, lifting cushions and many other movable furniture elements. They are also available in three EN- and VDE-compliant models. Especially for space-optimized installation, STABILUS has developed a slender system solution, allowing operation of up to two single drives via a mini-control.
A potential for demanding specialized solutions
In addition, many manufacturers of designer furniture, high-tech furniture systems and kitchen technology have started taking advantage of STABILUS’ engineering expertise. So for example, if customer-specific adaptations or new developments are required, the specialists at our Koblenz location will, as part of their service, develop customized special and niche solutions based on Powerise drive technology. STABILUS will provide more information about this service at the ZOW 2010.
