More Comfort with Shock-absorbing Depth Spring Action

Gas spring systems from Stabilus allow innovative swivel chair solutions

Stabilus continuously adapts its gas spring portfolio to the latest ergonomics and design trends in the office chair industry. With numerous product solutions for more flexibility and comfort, the manufacturer is emphasizing its position as the technology leader in this market segment at this year’s INTERZUM (May 13-16, 2009).

Koblenz, April 2009. – Locking gas springs are indispensable for designing ergonomic functions into office swivel chairs. Stabilus, a manufacturer with a long tradition, is a premium supplier in this market. At this year’s INTERZUM, it will present its locking gas springs STAB-O-MAT, STAB-O-BLOC and BLOC-O-LIFT for the variable adjustment of seats and backrests. Special focus will be on the selection of depth spring action systems for more seating comfort, and on an expanded line of actuation systems for enhanced handling flexibility.

Experiencing the effect in the dark

The focus of Stabilus’ presentation at this year’s INTERZUM will be on shock-absorbing systems that provide top comfort over the entire adjustment range and especially in the lowest seat position. Stabilus offers a broad range of options for this purpose. Visitors of booth G010/H011 (hall 5.2) will be able to experience the subtle differences between different shock-absorbing systems in a darkened showroom. They will be trying out twisting columns with integrated depth spring action, comfortable bounce or additional shock absorption in the lowest seat position. They differ with regard to design, price-performance ratio, and comfort level. Another focus at the Stabilus booth will be on the gas springs of the BLOC-O-LIFT line. They are considered the ideal solution for variable adjustment of backrest and seat position.

Moving up with a joystick

The numerous actuation systems offered by Stabilus will also be presented at INTERZUM. For the height adjustment of the STAB-O-MAT or the STAB-O-BLOC alone, swivel chair manufacturers have a choice of standard axial actuation, actuation by valve pin, or radial actuation by joystick, as well as axial and radial Bowden cable actuation (fixed or rotating).

At Stabilus, manufacturers of swivel chairs will always find the right solution for their design ideas. At the same time, they can be assured that all Stabilus gas springs are high-quality products developed for a long service life. They are manufactured according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and global standard ISO/TS 16949.
