Stabilus Powerise will present new, innovative drives for automatic adjustment at this year’s INTERZUM in Cologne (May 13-16, 2009). With their help, numerous applications can be positioned safely and conveniently. The ready-to-install systems can be integrated into any design.

Koblenz, April 2009. – Stabilus Powerise will bring three innovative drive systems for adjusting slatted bedframes to INTERZUM in Cologne. At its booth G10 in hall 5.2, the company will show manufacturers of beds and slatted bedframes how ready-to-install dual drives can turn a plain bed into an oasis of sleep and rest. At first glance, their low-profile and light-weight design makes all three electromechanical 24-V drives winners. And the wireless remote control is also an eye-catcher.

Even the “small” PR D10 dual drive makes it obvious that the Stabilus designers have met all requirements of manufacturers and end customers: This weight-optimized drive can be combined with all commercial fittings; it can be installed by simply twisting the housing in between the rotating axes of the slatted bedframe fittings, allowing for simple and easy installation. And with dimensions of 692 x 160 x 84 mm (L x W x H), this direct drive is extremely compact. Yet it is poised for maximum performance: With a power of up to 300 Nm under no-load conditions, it will meet any needs of slatted bedframe applications. Its control via a non-electric manual switch is a world novelty. Its two-button operation is intuitive and very comfortable.

Wireless premiere in Cologne

The dual drive PR D11 will be launched at INTERZUM. It features the compact design of the PR D10, but can be combined both with the wired standard switches of the Powerise line, as well as with the new Powerise radio control. The radio system is not only a user-friendly wireless solution, but it is also a technical marvel. Since the receiver is integrated in the transformer, it does not require a battery but is supplied directly from the grid. And since the radio control is part of the Powerise kit, it will allow slatted bedframe or bed manufacturers flexibility: They can choose which transformer or operating concept (wire or radio) they want to combine the dual drive with. Both the PR D10 and the PR D11 fit fittings with center distances of 581 mm.

Also available with a radio system is number three of the dual drives, the PR D20 with outer dimensions of 721 x 165.5 x 103.5 mm (L x W x H). Thanks to its functional housing, it can be mounted anywhere on the adjustment axes (25 x 25 mm). Stabilus Powerise also offers a matching fitting kit for a center distance of 581 mm, with the plug-in axes allowing variable fitting widths. In addition, the fitting, which can be completely disassembled, is a space-saver during storage and transportation. This will increase efficiency, save resources, and lower costs – all at the same time.

All Stabilus Powerise dual drives support the development of bed concepts with high comfort and safety requirements. They are completely maintenance-free, variably positionable, silent, and feature integrated, EU-compliant power disconnects, which are also compatible with a higher-level main disconnect for the whole house. All dual drives come standard with a mechanical auxiliary lowering function that can be activated in no time without a battery – a useful standby feature during a power outage. Their compact design and ease of installation will afford bed and slatted bedframe manufacturers more design leeway as well as productivity advantages.

The product line will be further enhanced by additional innovations. The company will also launch a group of space-saving and functionally optimized single drives at the INTERZUM. They can be combined with any Powerise accessories and are suitable for applications beyond bed construction – for example in upholstered furniture and cabinets.
