Stabilus Powerise presents automatic slatted bed frame adjustment drives

Stabilus Powerise will launch two compact installation solutions for automatic slatted bed frame adjustment in modern beds at the ZOW supplier tradeshow in Bad Salzuflen (Feb. 9-12, 2009). These dual electromechanical drives allow simple and safe positioning of the foot and back sections. They are suitable for almost all common slatted bed frame designs.

Koblenz, November 2008. – For bed and slatted bed frame manufacturers, the tradeshow booth of Stabilus Powerise should be one of the most important destinations at the approaching ZOW supplier tradeshow in Bad Salzuflen, Germany. In hall 19, booth D9, the company will present two new drive solutions for adjusting premium slatted bed frames automatically: the 24-V dual electromechanical drives PR D10 and PR D20. These are ready-to-install components whose low-profile and light-weight design makes them winners.

Record-breaking compact design

Measuring barely 692 x 160 x 84 mm (L x W x H), the design of the PR D10 is extremely compact. The drive can be combined with all commercial fittings; it can be installed by simply twisting the housing in between the rotating axes of the slatted bed frame fittings. Despite a design that has been optimized for space and weight, the performance specifications of this electromechanical direct drive are impressive: In no-load conditions, it will tilt the foot section of the slatted frame up to 51° in just 11 seconds, producing up to 300 Nm; the backrest section can be brought up to a 70° tilt in only 14 seconds.

At 721 x 165.5 x 103.5 mm (L x W x H), the PR D20 is only slightly bigger. Featuring a highly functional housing design, its advantage is that it can be installed anywhere on the adjustment axes (25 x 25 mm). To match the PR D20, Stabilus Powerise also offers a fitting kit for a center distance of 581 mm, with the plug-in axes allowing variable fitting widths. In no-load conditions, this adjustment drive will tilt a foot section up to 51° in 12 seconds, and a head section to 70° in just 17 seconds.

With the PR D10 and PR D20 direct drives, Stabilus Powerise offers two drive solutions of the latest generation. Their compact design will afford bed and slatted bed frame manufacturers more design leeway, while their ease of installation will provide productivity advantages. These new dual drives can be incorporated in modern and flexible bed concepts that will meet the highest demands with regard to comfort, safety, and design.

Variable and silent

Both adjustment drives are variable, silent, and can be easily operated by a manual switch. The standard model features an integrated, EU-compliant complete power disconnect and a mechanical auxiliary lowering function. In addition, they are compatible with a higher-level main disconnect for the whole house.
